Title: Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne
Date: Friday, 05 December 2008 06:33PM
A book set in the Dragon Age universe is to be released March 2009, written by the game’s lead writer David Gaider. The book is titled ‘Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne‘, and promises George R. R. Martin-esque political machinations as it follows the trials of characters appearing in the game, but 3 decades earlier, before the start of the Dragon Age. "After his mother, the beloved Rebel Queen, is betrayed and murdered by her own faithless lords, young Maric becomes the leader of a rebel army attempting to free his nation from the control of a foreign tyrant. His countrymen live in fear; his commanders consider him untested; and his only allies are Loghain, a brash young outlaw who saved his life, and Rowan, the beautiful warrior maiden promised to him since birth. Surrounded by spies and traitors, Maric must find a way to not only survive but achieve his ultimate destiny: Fereldens freedom and the return of his line to the stolen throne." - edited on Thursday, 11 December 2008 05:54PM -

Title: Recent downtime
Date: Friday, 21 November 2008 11:48PM
Just a note to acknowledge the recent flakiness of this website over the last few days. There may be a few more problems to come over the coming days as well, but the website should be working most of the time and will soon be back to its usual reliable self.
Thanks for your patience, and apologies for the troubles. |

Title: Mobile version
Date: Thursday, 04 September 2008 04:35PM
There is now a mobile version of this website at http://mobile.dragonagecentral.com/
It is very minimalist, designed to load quickly on mobile phones. Much functionality is missing, but it should let you check up on the latest goings on in the world of Dragon Age whilst out and about. |

Title: Archived forum thread links now work
Date: Thursday, 24 July 2008 09:06AM
Over the E3 period the original official Dragon Age forums were archived and a new set of forums were released at a different url. Up until just now I’ve had all the links to threads in ‘forum post’ posts pointing to the new forum, which meant links to threads made before E3 didn’t work.
This has now been fixed, so you have seamless access to both the old and new official forum from the thread links. |

Title: Live shows at E3
Date: Wednesday, 16 July 2008 12:28PM
IGN will be showing something about Dragon Age at 9:30am PDT (4:30 GMT) today, as will other gaming websites no doubt. Update: it has now aired, and is viewable by clicking the ‘watch live’ button (during Wednesday) and seeking to 9:47am. It features the first gameplay footage of Dragon Age, and an interview with Greg Zeschuk. Update2: gamespot’s variant is available here. Update3: In about an hour, Bioware will provide a version directly to its fans from here. - edited on Thursday, 17 July 2008 12:11AM -

Title: FAQ, comments overhaul
Date: Monday, 28 April 2008 08:26PM
I’ve overhauled how the FAQ and comments system work, making them nice and AJAXy. This means, however, that you require a modern browser with javascript turned on to use them.
The comments system is just nicer to use now, whilst the FAQ has been turned into a single page. Answers to FAQs have always been generated dynamically, but since that takes some time only a few questions could be put on a page at once, hence breaking the FAQ into a page per sub-section to make the page load faster. Now an answer is only retrieved on request, so we have one fast-loading page. Try playing with the comments system by commenting on this post. It doesn’t matter what you say. You don’t have to be signed up to comment. |

I’m very sorry, the site was down for most of Sunday; I was away from any computer and didn’t notice the problem for many hours. Again, my apologies.

Title: More translations
Date: Sunday, 16 September 2007 08:51PM
Thanks to the good folks at http://www.dragon-age-game.de and http://www.dragonage-game.de, there are now a number of posts translated into German.
The main filter form now also gives you easy access to translated posts. If you’d like to translate posts into other languages, please get in touch with me. In slightly related news, LdyShayna has become an editor and written her first post, translating elven phrases. |

Title: Translations
Date: Monday, 10 September 2007 04:50PM
To handle Georg Zoeller’s coded messages, I’ve added a translation feature to the site. Some posts will now have little country flags; clicking on them will show the post translated into the corresponding language.
Soon I hope to use this feature to give translations of some normal English posts in other languages such as German or French. If you’re interested in being a translator, please get in touch with me. |

Title: User Uploads
Date: Sunday, 09 September 2007 06:27PM
Major update this week: you can now upload Dragon Age related files to the site to share with other fans. Just sign up if you haven’t already, log in and there’ll be new upload-related links in the main menu on the left.
It’s early days yet so there’s probably little interest in this feature right now, but just remember the feature exists and is ready for you to use any time. If you run into any issues uploading files, be sure to tell me about them by commenting on this post. |
